NSWGFL COLTS HISTORY

Hi Guys

Slow day at work got me thinking, i was looking at who have been past champions in the colts for NSW.

I have made a list as accurate as i can find info for. Let me know if you can fill the gaps. I know at one stage there was two comps in the early 90's.

91 North Shore Falcons

92 Penrith City Chiefs

93 Penrith City Chiefs

94 Penrith City Chiefs/Sydney Uni Cubs (two comps)

95 Sydney Uni Cubs

96 Sydney Uni Cubs

97 Macarthur Rams

98 West Sydney Trojans

99 Manly Redbacks

00 ???

01 Sydney Uni Cubs

02 Sydney Uni Cubs

03 Sutherland Seahawks

04 Sutherland Seahawks

If any are wrong let me know, just trying to find a little history about our sometimes forgotten colts.

1998 Was the TROJANS over Seahawks 14-0

Game MVP was Eric O'donnell

Griff, I was only there to watch that game and got called out of my car whilst still eating a pie or something about 5 min before kick-off. I had crumbs all over me! Crumbs!!!!

I think I know the pylon play you're talking about because I vaguely remember an officials meeting after that game where breaking the plain of the goal line came up and that was an example sighted.

In 2000, the Redbacks beat the Trojans 30-0. The Trojans had beaten the Cubs in the Semi Final 10-6.

And yes, Pete, 2001 it was the Trojans who went down to the Cubs, 8-0 at Austral.

1996 Cubs 36-12 over Trojans at Kingswood Oval (or was it Jamison?)
1995 Cubs 36-8 over UWS Macarthur at UTS Ku-ring-gai
1994 Cubs 20-0 over Manly (this was before my time)

according to Syd uni web site they lost in the semis to the trojans?

So was it redbacks v trojans or has syney uni site got it wrong.

just tryin to find some history about colts, as a league we kind of forget about colts. at all levels we seem to think seniors is the be all and end all.

Here you go Wombat, from what I can remember.

2000 Grand Final was played at Craik Park between Sydney Uni and the Manly Redbacks. The Redbacks won 2 touchdowns to 1. Darren Kirby won the MVP award for the game and season, running for 1 touchdown and throwing another to Ben Quigley. David Mayne was the referee and I was the backjudge. Poppy was on te chains and at one stage gave a very large "move the bloody chains" as is expected.

Trying to remember who the losing team was at each final, and the location.

2007 UTS @ Kyeemagh I think I have the score card around here somewhere.

2006 UTS @ Davd Phillips 28-6

2005 Trojans @ Homebush 28-26

2004 Chiefs @ Homebush 22-12

2003 Chiefs @ Caringbah 20-0

2002 Bondi @ Sydney Uni 22-8

2001 Have to do some thinking about that. I think the Trojans.

2000 Sydney Uni @ Craik Park

1998 Seahawks @ Kingswood 14-0

1997 Sydney Uni @ Landsvale 14-6

Cant remember before that.
