Hi all I know that the seasson like 6 months away, just seeing whos started trainning, whos in and out??

Going by the Crus page John Leijton is there new head coach.

We're the Gippsland Gladiators, and we have people from about 10 different towns in Gippsland, some traveling for about an hour and a half each way to and from practice. We're new, raw, but hungry!

The Gladiators have over 50 names of people interested in playing, but are averaging about 20 for our Saturday morning training sessions. Since most of our guys are new to the sport, we are having 3 sessions a week so they can learn the ins and outs.

We will have ordered our pads by the end of the month and are eager to start hitting!

i love the fact the old blackhawks and raiders are getting the team together again... we need them back.... would be great to get at least 2 more teams in this year

Watch out for the Northern Raiders. We have started training and are getting decent numbers to practice. Currently training at the old Pathers ground in Greensborough. if your based in northern suburbs, get down to practice tuesdays 6pm, Nells st Greensborough. and Sundays 10am.

Way too early to tell. Pioneers are keen but very raw. Pioneers have the best shot of the 3 potential teams at the moment (Pioneers, Royals, Gladiators), based on the fact that they have all the ex-seahawks equipment. Just a couple of querys on the possibility of a new team next season

1.Will ballarat be coming in as a full fledged team or will they be coming in as a part time team like the barbarians the other year?

2.Is it a possibility that they will be replacing the seahawks going out and the return of no bye games for anyone.

Just a thought and was wondering if anybody in girddy land knew because there is an opening there now with the one less team

Advertising yes, newspapers no.

Google adwords, facebook ads etc are cost effective and target specific demographics and interests.

Contributing newspaper articles to local papers are mostly free and are more effective than an advertisement.

We don't need to spend money to reach people - there is interest snowballing every single day - we just need to be ready.

I agree with nastee on this one as will give clubs the oppurtunity to get the junior program sorted out better as there will be more time at the end of the senior season.

The only reason the season was changed was to give into the demands of G.A so we could be inline with most of the other states but it has not worked in vic as we already have seen a dwindling of numbers.

Also some kind of advertising by G.V in papers would be a real good thing to try and attract new people to the sport,I tell people I play gridiron and they dont even know theres a league here.Advertisement would not only bring players down it may also bring fans of the game down who just might want to be involved as club members.

Just my opinion.

agree with season move but unless games are Saturday twilight and night games can't agree with sat games. Too many work and have church. That's just out demographics out here. The season has to come forward regardless though!!!!! Or die
