That way, people ususally show up, since they're paid for anyways. I don't agree with the idea of no all star dinner or awards i think its a good way of rewarding people who have had a great season. <br><br>I think if anything the awards night should be made more prestigious, like the brownlow or the border medal night, where each team has a few players suited up, and the league does a count etc... The season finished 4 months ago and has pretty much been all but forgotten about, especially with the state trip having occurred as well. With the end of the season looking likely to be the last Saturday before x-mas each year it makes it hard with venues and available dates around that time of year. I do know there has not exactly been a flood of volunteers to do any admin/gameday/not-directly-on-field activities at league level over the past few years and I suspect this is true for most (if not all clubs) too.
