'With the NCAA taking away one year of eligibility because of him playing in the amateur football league in Australia, D’Cunha would only have two years left when he reports in January. But D’Cunha said the NCAA has encouraged him to appeal the decision, “so I think I have a good chance to get it back.”Can anyone quote the section from the Div I college eligibility rules that the NCAA have based this decision on?

Its great to see that more Aussie's are breaking into the College ranks..
There may be few but its still good to see. At 23, i take it he'll only be looking to only play 2 years or so?
Still awesome work on his behalf, i say good luck to him, the Big 12 is a haaarddd division, and Baylor doesnt have a great record, but it does get alot of playtime on TV so hopefully he gets recognised!

I'd imagine that his eligibility was effected by his time at Santa Barbara rather than in Australia. does anyone know if he went to university in Australia? because that has an effect on your eligibility too."The former West Sydney Pirates player linked with Santa Barbara Junior College in 2006, where he pressed his claims for a division one scholarship"

The rule is that when you play organized sport over the age of 21 you use a year of division one eligibility. So he used a year playing for the Pirates.
