Hmmm barely a dirty hit.. Slight helmet to helmet contact.. And the Roc did get up and give the guy that hit him a bit of a pat on the back.

I think its more to tha naievity of Big Sav.. When in open field.. Head ona swivel!!!

Cheers

Has anyone seen the youtube video of this? Read the comments there is about 1000+ posts regarding it and most of them are from AFL fans who are talking trash to Americans saying that AFL is a more violent and superior sport to NFL. I lost count of how many times I heard on there that NFL players are overweight and slow and hide behind the helmet and pads. How can there be so many ignorant people out there like this? Not one of them have ever pulled on pads and a helmet and done a drill against each other. Sure AFL has a lot of skill and fitness involved and im sure it has its big hits every now and then but they are kidding themselves if they think any AFL player could go up against Julius Peppers or Ray Lewis (with or without pads) and come out unhurt.

A CRUSADER MAKES AN NFL ROSTER!!

Congrats to Sav Rocca who is now officially a Philadelphia Eagle after he beat out incumbant Dirk Johnson for the job of punter! Before he made The Big's, Rocca suited up and honed his skill with the current Vic Bowl Champion Western Crusaders! Well done Sav; next stop Honolulu!!

ALL DAY!!

hit schmit... everyone takes a hit...

Nobody said anything about the punt before it damn! From 5 inside the endzone down to what lookslike the 35... whammmmmmmy!

The article I saw mentioned that his punt stats could not be ignored even with his lack of experience. With punts like that no wonder.

Here are Rocca's pre-season stats, V's Dirk Johnson.

Gross punt yards: 45.4 V's 43.9

Net punt yards: 38.9 V's 34.8

Inside opponents 20: 5 from 15 punts V's 4 from 15 punts

Eagles GM Tom Heckert also refered to Rocca having a "big time leg".

Go to the aol site coz I semi-slammed the aussies on their bagging of the game. The comments are directly below the article. It disgusts me how ignorant my fellow country men are sometimes.
