I think having the tour start less than 24hours after the VicBowl didn't help. Not trying to be critical, it would be tough to organise such a trip with varied start & finish dates of all member states. Just saying that it was tough for some.

High Octane-fair point.

It is disappointing numbers wise but it is going to open doors for others. I know the SA guys are raving about everything they are learning there at the moment. I'd say the SA numbers (wanting to attend) will double or even triple over the next 1-2 years. Some of our juniors who turn 18 over next 6-18mths are going to be fantastic.

I'd hope the other states are going to be in the same boat as it will make for an awesome Outback side in future years. (No disrespect intended to current Outback side).

Man that is a beating. Sucks to send over a development squad. I'll be honest here and no offense to my fellow players even the Proper Outback squad will get smashed by a contending JC.

They run a spread first of all (No ground Game). Also the athletes there are much quicker and are used to a faster pace, unless the Outback squad was sponsored and could train like their opponents they wouldn't do much better. Not to mention their Linemen hit the gym as hard as the food BigGrin

I hate to be negative. I wouldn't even post if I wasn't bored.

Aside from what I said it would still be fun to go out there and get a beating..

I disagree.

Snow reminded me of the same speed and strength of Korea and France. Don't forget, we have sent off a few players from here that have excelled at JC and higher levels of competition overseas. I think the current Outback, if not the Outback from the World Games in '05 would of done quite well against Snow.

Read my post. Main reason we cant compete is we can't train like the teams we play. There is no money in our sport and it takes time to gel. Also tell me our boys train as hard as them I know a few, but its just a few not all. Give the Outback team a year to train and play together and they will do ok.

Yes, I did read your post, that's why I replied to it.

Never said we would beat Snow, can't say from the little I saw (which was a lot of looking at the sky)
But from what I saw of them, they reminded me of France and Korea, in regards to level of play. Thus, a conclusion to say the Outback team would do ok is what I have come to.

I entirely agree with you here. But a reason we could be ok against a school like Snow is that we have an Australian National team, drawing from all of Australia, ANY age, Snow is a tiny tiny tiny portion of the entire footballing population in America and are only 18-20 year olds, generally speaking.
