So it sounds like this may be quite a different year than 2008.

How are the teams looking in preparation for 2009.

I see the Seahawks still have their woes, going by the newspaper article this week in the local. It mentions an ex player has taken away their goal posts to be used for his new team. Does this mean there's a new club in the league?

Either way good luck to David with the new set up down in Frankston.

That has to be one of the funniest and also at the same time very sad to hear. The Seahawks are the punching bag of the league but they try hard and I for one don't want to see a team fold.

Anyways on to 2009, I have heard or seen many from around the league this off season. Ive heard the Warriors have gone thru a lot of major changes but haven't heard anything concrete. The Miners well we are getting 15 -20 rookies down to pre season skills sessions since Nov which is very encouraging and they are good sized guys. I'm not going to start banging the drum just yet because it's early and we will see just how many end up sticking around. By the way I think Patena might have found some more tape but that's all speculation at this point too. Lol.

The best addition so far for us will be the return of one of the Founding club members and first Miner to play for Australia(1988). Peter Frerker, appears he will take on Line coaching job.

He played O and D line and was also TE in the 1991 Premiership team. Played for Vic and Australian teams.

It took me nearly 4 years Pete but welcome home and now, lets get into it.

just to clarify the posts actually belong to that ex player. where he's going with them only he knows. maybe he'll put them up at home and practise his kicking....or in-zone dance...haha
