It's easy to hide behind your computer, I say SUIT UP OR SHUT UP!!! Can't believe you wait till i'm in Scotland to start this crap, oh well nothing has changed, anything to tear down the warriors!!! Until beaten, the Warriors ARE STILL THE BEST TEAM IN VIC!!!!! And if (and thats a big if) they are still the most successful team in GV history!!!! Good luck to all teams this weekend, cheers, Batta

| Load66 (2/07/2009) The Miners QB looked pretty athletic, but didn't have a good arm. Why was he asked to drop back all day and throw?
Miners number 16 looked pretty solid on the O.I haven't seen him before but I thought his arm was OK. He could have been a little more accurate at times but then that can be said for many a QB in the middle of a tight game. You have to have played QB to see how tough it is to play well all the time. He led a winning team - case closed really. |

| Big Sex (3/07/2009) Geniunely looking forward to the game this weekend - lot been said about this 4 man d-line of the miners so hopefully they all show up on the day and we get to see what they're like in the flesh.
Gottasay i'm enjoying this season heaps at the moment - good competition and seems to be a lot less between teams 1 - 5. Not to mention that the Warriors v Rangers game was one of the best i've ever played in.
Sorry big sex, I wont have my starting D line for you. |

| | It would be interesting to swap offenses and defences in teams to see what difference it made and coaches for that matter. A coach can only do something with the players he has and as the Warriors coach in the past i was blessed to have great players and it shows that without me they are still winning so its the players and the team that make the difference not the system. The key is good practices, not knocking the shit out of each other , you can do that on game day but excecution and learning both on the offense and defense. Repetition until everybody is sick of it then do it again, they should be able to run these plays in their sleep. No sacks allowed, break thru the line and stop, let the play get run otherwise its a waste of time. Walk through blitzes and adjustments otherwise no one learns. Its hard because getting everybody together for practice takes some doing. I think the sign of a good team is that when you lose a great player say like Heath Decker, you have someone who you have worked into the system for 2 or 3 years that replaces them. That is the key, the second tier players who get better every year. Getting them game time is always hard and keeping them in the team is really hard but consistency is the key. One thing in life that is for sure is change. Teams change personnel and without new guys to replace veterans you have problems. At the Warriors we have been lucky and worked hard to work guys in slowly and keep them there. We have lost many but we have kept plenty too.Our offensive line hasn't changed much in 5 years, man for man probably not the biggest or strongest but they function well as a unit. Lincoln and kenny in the backfield gives you the luxury of 2 great backs. We have tried to work in some rookies but this is a long process for that position, it takes time to mature.Ask receivers like Neal how many times in his first 2 years he sat on the bench and now starts and has become a great receiver. I bet everyone has the same problems. Different faces every year is good for numbers but bad for results. Just my thoughts, have a good weekend. |

| | Despite the weather, the Cru still won. Who said their D was bad? with their starting corners and almost entire D line missing...they still held on for the win. |

| | Miners v Warriors was a good game - not sure of the exact final score but 5 TDs to 1 sounds about right. Who were you missing from the D-Line? The blokes i remeber playing for most of the day were 63, 53, 6 and the little quick end (maybe 85?). I know petana was in there for a couple of downs as well. They were good without being awesome - would have thought at least 3 of those guys were your starters. Sheer amount of flags thrown was the only thing that marred that game. Sometimes you just have to let teams play. |

| Big sex, no need to be nice. Defence was spanked which was due as they were getting cocky. Flags well they were there. For the most part of 4 years your O lines success has been mostly through sneaky holding that hasnt been seen. It caught up yesterday. As I say tho anything is legal as long as you do not get caught!! You got caught out!!!
Also first time I have ever seen Lync mouth off ever!!! He is usually silent. It cost you also.
Didint matter as we still got spanked. O however showed some improvement and appears Sam maybe coming out of his form slump. well done sam.
Anyways it all come down to one word. TRAINING!!!!!! |

Despite the weather, the Cru still won. Who said their D was bad? with their starting corners and almost entire D line missing...they still held on for the win. No one said they were bad. So what was the score for Buccs vs Cru any write-up of the game? Would be interesting to read. Warriors vs Miners was another hard faught game. Took me close to 25 mins to walk from the parking lot to the train station today. I appreciate the refs for participating, but that head ref is just bad. He never seems confident of his calls. Every person on the Warriors O got a flag except Dom. I prefer refs who at least watched football or played in the past. Well won't complain too hard, we are short of Refs, but let us play.

| | Great game to watch at the weekend. Everybody knows that holding takes place on every single play and could be called as such but in our game it shouldn't because it makes for terrible games. The obvious ones go for it but a few of the calls at the weekend were average, still good to watch how the game changes with defferent calls. Kenny, i think the Miners 87, quick end was the one who really got some pressure and individually each one of their D line is really aggressive and one on one great pass rushers but its not just about getting to the QB, they have to flow to the ball as well, the rest of the miners defense pursues so well and great tacklers in the open field but letting Linc or kenny get to the outside so many times puts a lot of pressure on Safeties and Corners. Also they need to be more suspicious of getting thru too easily as the Screen killed them. I did see some great out routes thrown by the QB for good yards, but only at the end of the game. Where was that simple but effective offense at the beginning of the game.....Warriors were solid . Dom was on target threw some bullets and the running was tough especially Kenny hitting the holes really hard. Suddenly Linc has started putting his head down and running low and man what a difference, he's looking great. The O line looked great, plenty of pulling especially Benny who was brilliant. The d was solid and had a few picks and fumble recoveries which helps a lot. All in all a good day of football and well spirited, i saw a lot of guys helping each other up after plays and that is what football is all about. I hope the Miners get some offensive form and get some more wins this season. |
