What was the score in the Miners v Warriors game?

Would have liked to have stuck around and watched them go at it.

i think it was Warriors 38 - 7

Hey what up Fatbat? We have been runnin at u for a wile and 1 good game (Vicbowl) does not change what I said, just says u can play if u werent scared to. I check out the wolves web page and saw u jumpin on pile and wiffin on tackles just like here, didn't see u getting smashed by oline but i am sure ur style hasnt changed. U need to harden up man, stead of talking up!

Good game on da weekend, Warriors steam rollin into the vicbowl by the looks, people have to step up and make that defense play some, get them under pressure and it might be different. Well might be the same old same old, people wont step up then the results will be the same, well lets see what happen.

Rangers seem to run them pretty close the week before last and all the other teams are stepping up.

This season is not done yet by a long way.

Crackbacker, what a pimple on the *** of society you are!

Go f$#! yourself d$#!head, we'll sort this out when I get back and not on a football field. Easy to take pot shots at someone anonymosly, I don't have to prove anything to you knumnuts. Stats prove that whilst on the Warriors D we were the best in the league for about 5 out of 8 years!!!

Weather you play or don't play, your comments mean shit, until we know who you are, you can't back it up!!!

To the rest of the league, good luck on your run into the finals!

You think you're Defense was the best in the league for 5 out of 8 years? That's a fairly strong call. Anyone else think that opinion is a tad biased? Or at least a tainted with that typical Warrior "our shit don't stink" attitude?

Only been here since 05. Warriors D have been dominating and held plenty of teams scoreless. Don't think anyone can match their track record. Look at the players on D from those years as well easily the best in most positions on our team and all state reps starting in 7+ D positions in State each year. Hard to argue against it. Wilson definately had the best schemes.

It's not the "our shit don't stink" attitude, it's confidence. If you fail to believe in your team you already lost. Would be funny to see a team with no confidence playing saying "we suck".....

Just glad there is some chatter. Can we get on to about this season again?

With the lack of info coming in these forums these days I don't even know the names of most of the players these days and who is standing out.

Still hoping someone does a summary of the Cru vs Buccs game.

Excuse my tardiness in regards to an approoriate response to recent comments made by Crackbacker but a few key points need to be said:

the way I heard it wombat wasn’t much, a guy who made his reputation on weak teams and went missing with wiffs on big tackles and disappeared on the pass, most teams run at him cause he was easy to block and not reliable,

First off 'crack licker':  You are either a person who enjoys contradictions, stating opposing opinions that are illogical or inconsistent with your previous statements or you do so with the knowledge that it creates controversy for some petty motivation because you enjoy getting a reaction out of people. Whatever the case, your arguments reek of a simpleton with little or no intelligence (in layman terms, an idiot or retard).

You claim that Wombat 'wasn't much', 'missed tackles' and 'disappeared on the pass', yet in later statements you, yourself, acknowledged that he had a big game in the Vic Bowl. What I find even more amusing is your attempt to devalue the impact of having 'only one good game' in what most would consider THE most important gridiron game of the season- the grand final for Gridiron Victoria. Surely even you, an incompetent critic, must take note of the notion that of all the games you could have excelled at, the VicBowl is the most opportune time to shine. Wombat was dominating and contributed a massive amount to holding the Rangers scoreless in the championship.

losing Finbar to injury is a tough break, haven’t seen your nzl guy this year but uh he was playing offense last year anyway right? Didn’t Schwef play TE also last year, he retired cause the league suspended him i heard? You lost Bull he was pretty good but I see you have another massive guy back, didn’t he play for Australia, your doing ok there.

Next, I am not one of those players who will tolerate or throw out excuses for poor performances. We have had a large turnover on our Defense and do have our weaknesses, as does any team, but few can argue our stats- we are and have been a dominant defense in this league for years thanks to Craig Wilson and a plethora of talented individuals. Holding the two teams in last year's semi and grand final games to 0 is an achievement onto itself so don't go throwing out casual insults without providing proof of incompetence.

The way I see it your pass D has taken a step back with Miet to short but makin all da tackles, your safety don’t tackle or cover well.

May I ask your credentials in regards to determining the quality of pass coverage in a defensive scheme? Have you coached defensive backs? Have you played as part of a secondary unit? I find it hard to value statements from a blank faced computer geek who hides behind a crap username and passes judgement on all without basis or reliability. I rate our safeties as one of the best in the league- Brendan Hackett and Peter Richardson are outstanding playmakers who naturally flow to the ball. And what we lack in athletic ability, we surely make up in heart and commitment.  Can I ask as a summation of this sidepoint: how many points has your team scored in the air against us? I'd hazard a guess- minimal...point taken or should I draw pictures for you?

Not saying you guys aren’t good just don’t rate anyone as a standout athlete or someone who runs ur huddle? You guys just seem to have lost your smarts, getting out thought and out played. All you guys say is your missing this guy and that but I don’t see it, have u guys changed your D to the yank version? Or still trying to run the old d without the brain? Your offense wont carry you all year, without Wilson you guys have lost a lot of heart on d, and were coming to get u, i can smell da fight now, epic finals this year for all in it! >:/

Do we all witness even more evidence of contradictory statements? You just pointed out Finbar, Tim (the Kiwi), Scwef and Big John as players who have 'stood out' as athletes and then you make the opposing view that you 'don't rate anyone as a standout athlete'. Which is it, do you rate them as athletes or don't you? On second thought, the time it would take for you to digest the information and respond would negate an appropriate form of conversation.

So let's have it- tell us all your name so we can judge whether you have the appropriate credentials to throw out such disparaging comments. Everyone knows me- the name's Julien Miet, number 88 of the Warriors (part of the defensive secondary team that you just so casually insulted) and Defensive captain and playcaller. My guess is you don't have the heart to say anything in response other than a simple insulting retort with no form of evidence or proof to support your argument, thereby proving your lack of intelligence and ability to repudiate an opposing point of view. What was that....silence.....I thought so...

The force is strong within this one

Playmaker (8/07/2009)[hr

"starting in 7+ D positions in State each year"? Gee thats kinda funny, because i was AT state last year and there were 5 STARTING Buccaneers in that Defense, including MLBs, CBs and DL. In fact, it was OUR CB who received the game ball in the Grand Final. And at the moment I can count 3 Buccaneers heading off to England, how many Warriors made it into the Australian Team? Finbar? Anyone else? So before you start shooting your mouth about how amazing you think your boys are, maybe check your own stats. It's easy to say you've got the best stats in the league when you don't bother to go to EVERY other game and write EVERY statistic down. This is GV for God's sake, its not like your stats would be particularly accurate anyway. Saying that Wilson had the "best schemes" is arrogant and naive. Have you seen every scheme from every team in the league? Have you seen them run properly with adequate execution? For all you know, the Seahawks could have the best playbook in the entire league, but just not the numbers, key players or fitness to execute it. I'm not bagging Wilson, because I know he's a talented Defensive mind, but again, that IS your Warrior "my shit don't stink" attitude. Being confident doesn't mean shit if you have to put the people around you down just to make yourself feel bigger. People in this league would like you Warrior boys a hell of a lot more if the majority of you learned to shut up and let your football do the talking.

look to me like some people are cryin out for some respect. Ionhyd is all angry his team can't stop more that the seahawk all year and then says he has the best pesonnel...wtf how do that make sense? When have Buc been know for good D let alone good secondary..rofl! Guido only man who held that team together, tnaz ur good but got some fatbat complex, talking urself up stead of letting the crowd decide.

88, thanks for the big words, I have no idea what ur saying but your angry I get that. Sure fatbat had a good vicbowl, but Rangers are dumb, all it woulda taken is one OL hat on this guy and endzone is open with the Chruch hittin the hole. hes another self promoter, let the crowd decide, only warriors comin to his defense, and not to many of them.

Warriors will fall aprt now, no discipline, flags everywhere, O & D, u guys just coastin on a dyin era now ur coaches have gone, won't be long before the big implosin

as for coachin I think we all know there are not many in the state who can, a lot who think they can. Aus squad is joke with Park pullin out, other guys never done anythin, feel sorry for the guys spendin all that money, hope they get angry and take it our on the brits.

Saying which team has talent because they're on the Outback squad is a big misnomer because of how the state team works.  Lots of guys choose not to go because of finances, work, family committments, etc.  The squad is more a representation of who's good and went to state, and can afford the Outback trip (and if they'd even want to go) in the first place, rather than the best collection of football players in the country.

I'm not going to say who's the best and who's not but I look at it like this:  last year, the Warriors played the Rangers four times, 3x in the regular season, once in the Vic Bowl.  During the 3 regular season games, the Rangers scored something like 50 points combined.  During the Vic Bowl, despite seeing our team 3x, despite having film and experience and knowledge of the Warriors personnel, they scored a total of 0 points.  You have to give credit to Craig Wilson for that.  Of course, take a look at the Rangers holding the Warriors O to a total of 6 points in the same game, with the same circumstances.  Perhaps then it's no surprise these are the top 2 teams in the league 5 out of the last 6 years - teams that can make adjustments and come up with good game plans executed by talented and well coached players?

And yes I firmly believe we at the Seahawks do have the best playbook on the planet.
