Atlanta are trying to offer Micheal Vick for trade! Gets out of jail in June/July.Carolina's Julius Peppers wants to be traded to a team that runs a 3-4 defence. Dallas finally 'officially' cut Adam "Pacman" Jones.

Mad Philly Fan! (17/02/2009)
Atlanta are trying to offer Micheal Vick for trade! Gets out of jail in June/July. Carolina's Julius Peppers wants to be traded to a team that runs a 3-4 defence. Dallas finally 'officially' cut Adam "Pacman" Jones. If Atlanta gets any offer of a 3rd rounder or better for him, take the deal. The man is a PR nightmare at the moment - but teams need a dynamic QB to sell tickets. Houston would be an interesting fit with slaton and johnson there. Chicago could REALLY use a game breaker on offense - so could KC (isn't he in prison in Kansas?) Julius Peppers wants to go to a team whose QB doesn't throw 5 picks a game If the Cowboys don't want Pacman, he's done. I don't think even Oakland takes a flyer on him now.

I heard a rumour that McNabb tried to get Vick to transfer to Syracuse so they could play together in college! Would be picked up as a back up QB, RB, KR, PR or option for trick plays, eg; Wildcat! He would make defences jumpy if he lined up in a backfield with the starting QB under centre! With Peppers, the Pats run a 3-4 'D' and know how to win titles, I think he's hoping to walk right into that type of situation. T.J. Housh. didn't get franchised by the Bengals so now he's on the market! The Bengals franchised Kicker Shayne Graham instead!?

Housh isn't a top 10 receiver. Not worth the money a franchise tag would cost. A good kicker might be the only player a FT is worth, since they usually only have 1-2 year contracts anyways. Few kickers get long term deals since they're so fickle. Problem now is - Who's Carson going to throw to? Ocho Cinco is probably out, Housh is too, Chris Henry's in prison - thin stripes in Cincy

Now im mot saying that hosh is the best receiver in the league, but not a top 10, come now dan that is harsh, ill give you some numbers to think about.(84,1080.6,5.8)(85,121,7.4)(89,1012.4,7.2)(63.6,965.2,11.6)(71.8,1110,11.6)(80.2,1023.8,6.4)(85.2,1195,9.2) Now these numbers are all fairly similar, fluctuating in differnet spots, but what do these numbers mean? they are the averages (rec.,yards, tds) over the past 5 seasons of 7 top nfl receivers, Randy Moss, TO, Ocho Cinco, Anquan Boldin, Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson and of course Hosh, these are in no specific order, which set of numbers do u think belongs to hosh?

Probably the 3rd set.I'd like to think that though slowing down, Hines Ward, Torry Holt, and Marvin Harrison would all be up there. Not including (though numbers don't always tell the full story) Plaxico Burress Roddy White Brandon Marshall Steve Smith Calvin Johnson

Well you selected wisely, intersting to note he averages more reception that the for mention receivers. Yes i admit i did over look some guys, but i would still place him in the top 10.Hines wards has crossed the 1000 yard mark twice in the last 5 years so think its fair to say he doesnt rate that highly, yes he plays for a run first team, but so did roddy white this year. Tory Holt, yes agreeded i overlooked him. Marvin has faild to combine for 100 yards over his past to seasons, and the fact that the colts wont bring him back next year is a good sign he isnt in the top 10 (not to say reggie wayne overlooked by both of us isnt up ther). Steve smith, again agreeded top 5. Plax, well despit the addition of a speed hole to help him with the deep ball his league status leaves him out (this aside he hasnt consistenly produced high numbers. As for Marshall, white and calvin johnson, they are al young players with alot of potential to be among the best, 2 good years doesnt make you one of the elite players in the game, it is only in the last year or 2 that we have heard of larry fitzgeralds name being mention among the top 5 recievrs in the game, but he has been putting up big numbers for 5 years, not to mention player like michael clayton who show us that eary success can blow up. So Fitz, Boldin, Wayne, Holt, Owens, Ocho cinco, Andre Johnson, Smith, Moss, Hosh are in my book the top 10 active receivers in recent years (in no particular order), yes im aware you can argue other guys in but these guys are all reasonable considerations. Yes agreeded there is more than numbers when it comes to analysing guys, hoosh is 1 of 2 guys in this short list that is not even the number 1 target on their roster, so he has to compete to compile big numbers, not to mention this has all been done in a terribel football team, how did moss go when he was with a crap team? Yes he didnt have a quaterback of carson palmers calibre throwing to him, but hoosh didnt either when he was putting up solid numbers this season. And lets face it off field issues plague receivers, hosh isnt steve 'ill break you face,' smith, Chad 'look at me' ocho cinco, plaxico 'i love guns,' Burres or Terrel, 'its all about me' Owens. He is just a very capable nfl wide out.
