I think all those who participated in the tournament will come away knowing how they stack up against the best of their generation. They will (only now after the tourny) be able to reflect on their experiences and also have a better understanding of what improvements they need to make in order to be competitive against the best. They now have a true bench mark to aim for.....all the ego's (if any) are gone, maybe better attitudes are gained for training or game time.....maybe a new hunger for football technique and knowledge is gained.....these kids are better of I think as players and I hope they will thurst for more and Im sure it will reflect in their games in the up coming season.2cents anyway

If only some of the senior players had attended such a tournament then perhaps some of the massive egos we see amongst us would have been squashed many a year ago. Think of it this way: Bones heal, chicks dig scars and memories last a life time. I guarantee you any time one of those kids thinks he's king sh*t, he'll think back and smack himself out because he has played against the best and he will know that he is not even in the same book as the guys who are.

Spot on for the last two sentiments! It's a World Cup, so send your best. Look at the rugby league World Cup. Only three teams can realistically win it, the others are there to test themselves. (Please stop laughing about the joke that is international rugby league. Please! Stop! It's eroding the good point I'm trying to make!)
Only the truly delusional could come away from games against the US and think "Yeah! 2 trainings a week, two lifting sessions (if that), one game, a night on the p*ss and all the pizza I can eat and I'll be in the NFL in no time."
It's just a shame those damn sheep-shaggers from across the ditch were the ones who got the life lesson instead of some of our juniors. I often think it's a waste of time to hand out a lifting and running plan during our pre-season. I am begging for the day when I get proven wrong.

I hope the Australian Gridiron community will realize that it was actions of one man operating without mandate and not the New Zealand Gridiron Community at large that duped the Australian Juniors out of the JWC.
