| | Afternoon all, Well after watching the Saints put the Colts to the sword in a come from behind win it got me thinking about contacting everyone I knew that was a Colts fan and laughing over the phone at their misery. When I finished doing that I remembered that the start of the junior season was this weekend and I thought I would do a round up of the teams that will be taking the field this season and my personal opinion on how I think they will do this season. Gungahlin Firebir.... Wildcats: The Wildcats junior squad is looking solid thanks to what I hear being a roster made up of 99.9% ex Firebirds players who decided to shift across to the Wildcats due to their snappy uniforms, solid coaching staff and threat of jail time from trumped up charges from the Wildcats seniors head coach (Good luck in your first season Luds) . The Astros/UC Rockets/Spaceships/Missiles (Is it obvious I forgot what they are to be called): I am unsure what to expect of this motley band of misfits but with a joint coaching staff of Astros and Firebirds players i'm expecting big plays where they will make a 90yd drive upfield with textbook plays followed by their QB throwing it out of bounds for -15 yards as his o-line suddenly collapses....sigh good times watching Galbraith at QB in seniors, good times (just kidding mate, love your work and can't wait to see you at QB this season ) The Gladiators: No idea what to expect from this team but I'm sure all the other teams are hoping they repeat the senior squads first two seasons of the regular season. Will this happen... we will have to wait and see but with the coaching staff they have it does not look likely and I'm expecting a good season from them.....If they play....terrible season with no wins if they don't play. The Tornadoes: Another team I haven't heard too much about but from what I've heard they have the same coaches as last season so I'm expecting a good season from these guys also but we will have to wait and see the first game. Will they have a great season who knows, will they remember to register each and every player and not get docked a win, I think so. The Centurions: Following their championship win last season rumours of the win going to their head seem unfounded as their website doesn't mention anything of their championship win in juniors in 09 and seems focussed on their Senior performance. News on the grapevine is the biggest issue surrounding their team is the fact they find it hard to be coached by Alex as they all outsize him by about 10 inches in height. Of course if Alex isn't a coach this season this joke is pointless but a short joke about Alex is always fun. Am I expecting them to win another season in Juniors it all depends on which playbook they use, if it is the Juniors playbook modified to reflect 9 players then possibly, if it is the seniors playbook modified to reflect 9 players then get some life insurance on your QB. Looking forward to watching some good clean violence this weekend before these guys come up to Seniors and are corrupted by the glamour it holds, rampant drug abuse, off field scandals, wife swapping, groupies (attractive and hideously ugly ones.... it is only a semi-pro sport after all, when we go pro the uglies have to go.....I'm copyrighting that saying, don't touch) and sickening career ending hits by Warren, Larry and Matt Whitesell. Cheers Chimp |

| Glad even in the Juniors you can get on me for being small Chimpy To answer your question yes I am still coaching the Centurions juniors. This weekend will be a cracker with I think two very evenly matched teams. The Wildcats only 2 weeks ago beat us in a scrimmage so it should be interesting!
Shame none of the team websites except Tornadoes are advertising their Junior games at the moment, but even the Tornadoes are struggling as according to them they will be playing on saturday...
Hope you can get out to the games Chimp and don't harp on me if i'm a little amped up |

| | Hi all, Congrats to the teams that won on the weekend, I must apologise for not staying for too long but standing around during a monsoon isn't my thing for some crazy reason. Now while I missed most of both of the games I can only assume that both games went absolutely smoothly, ran on time and had top notch refereeing throughout the games. That is what happened isn't it Cheers Chimp |

I only saw the 2nd half of the Tugg v UC/Astros game, but from what I saw it was all pretty well behaved with only a few hot heads.
Hopefully this weekends games are more of a spectacle! |

| | Great to see the wildcats out there especially in such snazzy uniforms, even though they did look pink in the wet. |
