Outlaw63 (22/02/2010) it comes down to ... who wants it more this time...I can't help but laugh everytime I hear this saying... it's got nothing to do with who wants it more, its got everything to do with who has the best athletes/team/coaches....

yes... and no...
I get what you mean no matter what you have to have the on field skills and knowledge to get the game won but... you can be pretty sure at this level the players are good and the coaching is also good so you need an edge.
That passion, desire and want to suceed will give you that edge. It will make you work that bit harder, lift those extra weights and drive you to get up off the ground and throw it in the opposition face when you are down.
I know that is what has got me and my team over the line a couple of times.
It is a throw away cliche but if you think about it, it is relevant.
Back to the topic at hand...
SA will have a great secondary I am excited to see
The vics have the decker boys who are game changers and curwood isnt too bad either (i dont know where the comment for their OL came from though??),
WA I am interested to see, they have the heart but they need some more numbers to be contenders.
QLD have some big boys on D and should beat up on teams.
ACT I dont know much about, maybe being in such close proximity to NSW some might rub off on them???
All I know is bring on April already

"(i dont know where the comment for their OL came from though??), " Must have been on auto pilot there..lol I remember they had biggish O line thats all. Re team who wants it most.. I agree this term is used often but I believe in preparation. On field discipline will also play a major role in outcomes of games. Most prepared, best excuting, discplined and well conditioned teams/players will always be hard to beat! Just add aggression to make things interesting!!The reason NSW are the team to beat regardless of personalities, history or ego's is simply they have won the title 4 times in a row.. nuff said! And with spots on the Australian World Cup side up for grabs I'm sure every player @ the Nationals come April will be pushing hard for their selection!

It might be late.. but from WA our fullback Jason Gastarov, he is probably on of the most respected players in theWA league, loves to put a hit on.

Having played with and against Big Jason.. I can vouch for that. He was a lot more devastating at inside lineback though
Cheers

Yep he is a great LB, that is where he normally starts for us at a club level.

Watching the games so far, two players that have stood out for me are RB Saxon Leary for SA and Tim MacArthur for ACT. Leary has about 500 return yards in 2 games, and MacArthur is a one man wrecking crew at safety.

Agreed the ACT safety certainly brings a load in his hits! Great timing too. I heard he plays QB at club level?
