I Happened to be standing nearby the incident towards the end of the game. Whilst I don't know or saw what or who instigated it the real concern was that a USA coach entered the field of play and began manhandling NSW players rather than letting the refs handle it all. A NSW coach who was nearby let the USA coach know in no uncertain terms that he as an adult should not have involved himself in the kid's "push and shove" situation on the field - heated words were exchanged.
The cause of the fracas was the USA coach's conduct which lead to a spectator coming in to protect one of the NSW players from him to a NSW coach giving the USA bloke a mouthful at his disgraceful conduct.
Photos of the incident can be found at snapshot.com.au towards the end of the gallery.

Wow, dissappointing to hear that the game is overshadowed with a negative incident like that...... So basically a push and shove match happened with the USA Coach coming onto the field and manhandling players..... so then a NSW Spectator came on to the field to the rescue? Did the USA Coach man handle NSW players? Or did he just man handle his own players?

My recall was that he went for the NSW player - that's when the spectator came into the end-zone and put his arms protectively - (my term) around the NSW player - have a look at the photos

I'm not a gridiron follower as such though I enjoy the game when I see it on TV. Leaving the score aside the NSW team never gave up and it was an enjoyable sporting spectacle from the sideline - More publicity is needed for people like me to be made aware of the events.
The venue really was not appropriate - it should have been staged at a ground with seating (rather that 2/3 park benches) -Concord Oval or North Sydney oval come to mind - but perhaps the cost issue was a factor
