This Topic  has been chosen to help inform those people who are interested in gaining Federal funding from the Australian Sports Commission.

I have looked at the Australian Sports Commission Website and have checked out their criteria for recognition, Gridiron Australia is recognised by the Australian Sports Commission but we are not funded. One of the criteria for funding  is that we need to have a minimum of 5000 registered members.

We currently have 47 clubs in Australia so that means we need 107 members per club to hit 5000 members Nation wide.

Most Clubs in Australia would have at least 50 members ( 30 senior players and 20 Junior Players) and there are already some clubs in Australia that would have over 80 members.

I have listed some of the things that we can do within our Club to increase our membership to 107 players.

1. Introduce Flag Football competition for  Juniors and/or Seniors, and/or male and female and/or masters competition for over 35's.

2. Introduce Tackle Football for Younger age groups eg, Under 14's competition.

3. Introduce Womens Tackle Football.

I have download the link on the ASC recognition criteria

http://www.ausport.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0003/336432/2009-13_NSO_Recognition_Eligibility_Criteria.pdf

I have also download a link on all the Sports that are recognised by the Australian Sports Commission

http://www.ausport.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0004/468112/Recognised_NSO_and_NSODs_as_at_19_Dec_2011.PDF

Also if you look at the Table below from the Australian Sports Comission 2010-2011 Annual report you will see how much funding the Australian Sports Comission gives to other sports.

http://www.ausport.gov.au/about/publications/annual_reports/annual_report_2010-2011

Our personal  Income taxes are being spent on other sports. it would be nice if some of our taxes get spent on developing our sport.
